Chris Waters has been named to Team WEA as Southeast Regional Manager. He was most recently a regional promotions manager for BNA, and has a background in law enforcement/criminal justice, and radio promotions for Cumulus. He is also a drummer.

Streamsound Records has added Jennifer Shaffer as Northeast Manager of Promotion. She will report directly to VP of National Promotion and Strategic Marketing Teddi Bonadies, effective July 28. Additionally, Streamsound’s Eric Beggs will continue to work with the label as an independent and will work his region until Shaffer joins the team.
“As we continue to evolve and grow as a label, we are happy to welcome Jennifer to the Streamsound team,” says CEO Steve Richardson. “This is an exciting time for our label and we are confident in the collective passion and determination to continue to excel to the level of success we all aspire to achieve.”

BMI Nashville recognized the success of songwriter Tom Shapiro during a luncheon at Nashville restaurant The Palm on July 8. To celebrate Shapiro signing with Warner/Chappell, BMI also presented him with several Million Performance certificates for writing the hits “If Your Heart Ain’t Busy Tonight” (2 million), “Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You” (2 million), “No Place That Far” (2 million), “Perfect” (2 million), “Time Is Love” (1 million), and “Why Wait” (1 million).
Shapiro’s catalog has earned him more than 100 million radio performances, a tally shared by artists and songwriters including Elton John, Paul McCartney, Paul Simon and Barry Gibb.
