Haggard's 45th Anniversary 'Okie From Muskogee' Gets March Release

In December 1969, Merle Haggard‘s live album Okie From Muskogee was released after the single “Okie From Muskogee” had reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Singles Chart. The album, recorded live in Muskogee, Okla., won the Academy of Country Music award for Album of the Year in 1969, and Haggard received Top Male Vocalist, and Single of the Year for the title track.
Capitol Nashville will celebrate the project’s 45th anniversary with the release of Okie From Muskogee Anniversary Edition on March 25.
The Okie From Muskogee Anniversary Edition also includes the long out-of-print 1970 live recording The Fighting Side of Me.
