Industry Pics (8-8-13)

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker traveled to Nashville on Wednesday as part of a nationwide listening tour. During the visit, she toured Loud Studios with Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)’s Cary Sherman and Jim Catino, VP of A&R for Sony Music Nashville. Pritzker met with music industry leaders to gather insights into the music industry as well as intellectual property challenges. A roundtable with Pritzker and industry leaders was held at the Nashville Songwriters Association International on Music Row.

BMI hosted the BMI Stage at the 20th annual Lollapalooza festival in Chicago recently. The three-day festival featured 21 performers on the BMI stage, including Nashville artists Brooke Waggoner and Wild Cub.
