Good Works: Rascal Flatts, Gloriana, Musicians On Call

Yesterday (11/10), Best Buy Mobile and the Grammy Foundation continued their mission to help enrich schools in need, teaming up to donate $5,000 to Centennial High School in Franklin, TN. Students were treated to a surprise visit from Rascal Flatts, who spoke about the importance of music education.

“Music was a vital part of the guys and my young lives, particularly in school,” said Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts. “We are honored to be a part of what we feel is one of the most important programs for developing and recognizing talent in our youth.”
Rascal Flatts will also kick-off the special Thanksgiving week all-star line-up on NBC’s Today Monday, Nov. 21 as part of the Toyota Concert Series on the Rockefeller Center plaza. The group will be joined by Nastasha Begingfield to perform their latest single “Easy.”

In honor of Veterans Day, Gloriana has released “Soldier Song” as a free download today only (11/11). The song will be available exclusively at www.gloriana.com/soldiersong for the next 24 hours.

Gloriana will also give a special performance of the song in Rochester, MN today, as part of the town’s Veterans Day celebration.

Inspired by the band’s experience performing for the troops overseas, “Soldier Song” is from their forthcoming second album on Emblem Music Group/Warner Bros. Records. Band members Tom and Mike Gossin penned the tune with Grammy Award winning producer Matt Serletic.

Gloriana’s new single “(Kissed You) Good Night” is currently climbing the country charts.

19 Recordings/BNA artist Casey James will join labelmate Kellie Pickler at Nashville’s Hard Rock Cafe tomorrow (Nov. 12) as part of the Musicians On Call benefit, celebrating the four year anniversary of the organization’s Nashville branch. WSIX/Nashville PD John Anthony will be on hand to emcee the event.

Tickets are limited but still available for $30 on the MOC website. All proceeds go to funding MOC’s Nashville branch, which has provided over 40,000 healthcare patients in the Nashville area with music.
