Opryland Revs Up With New “Experiences”
Gaylord Opryland Resort has announced seven new “Country Music Experiences,” which the hotel is touting as part of “the nation’s most authentic country music vacation.” The new experiences include:
Gibson’s Check-In, Rock Out™! — This new program allows guests to create music in their rooms by choosing from a variety of Gibson guitars to lease for a day. Guests receive a “Pocket Pod” amplifier with headphones so they won’t disturb other guests while rocking out in their rooms.
Opry Country Classics — Beginning March 26, Opry Country Classics at the Grand Ole Opry House will feature a revolving door of hosts including Larry Gatlin, Marty Stuart and John Conlee performing classic country songs along with storytelling and vintage country film clips.
World-Famous Wildhorse House Band Search Contest — Incoming Wild Horse Saloon manager Ron Kerere will oversee a number of new activities at the downtown Nashville venue, including this nationwide competition for a new house band that will be held late spring.

How about if they put in an amusement park that was country themed….saaaay……they already did that? Oh. And they sold it because it was only “breaking even”? And now the whole community is suffering. Hope they go under.
“Beginning March 26, Opry Country Classics at the Grand Ole Opry House” featuring a “revolving door of hosts” performing :classic country songs along with storytelling and vintage country film clips”? And this announcement comes the same week that WSM 650 “The Legend” axed “legendary” (and much-loved) air personality/Grand Ole Opry announcer Keith Bilbrey from the airwaves?
BTW… do we know why the Saturday night Grand Ole Opry shows continue to shrink in length?
When in the world will everyone in Nashville get over the fact that Opryland is no longer here and the management of Gaylord that made the decision to close it is gone as well. Without Gaylord in Nashville, this town would have a GIGANTIC hole to fill in terms of tax revenues, jobs and desirability. Gaylord is responsible for 100’s of millions of dollars per year in economic stimulus.
I think everyone forgets about Gaylords contributions in tax revenue, the wages of over 4,500 jobs in Nashville alone that trickle down into the communities, the destination attractions of the Opry, the Ryman, The Wildhorse, The General Jackson, and largets hotel in the world outside of Vegas that brings 10’s of thousands of tourists to Nashville.
Get over it already!
