Why&How Celebrates Company Values & Rising Stars At Retreat

Artist management company Why&How converged in Music City during January for a 2023 All Staff Summit filled with staff meetings and client planning at Virgin Hotels Nashville.

The multiple-day company retreat also hosted an intimate artist showcase for company partners featuring performances from up-and-coming artists Angel White and Matt Koziol and previewing new music from A Thousand Horses, Seaforth, Drake White, and Danielle Bradbery.

The event reinforced Why&How’s core value of family, which permeates everything the company does. Named after Why&How CEO and Founder Bruce Kalmick‘s two children, Wyatt and Hazel, the company’s mission is to challenge and change certain ideologies that have existed within the music business. Instead of business first, Why&How is focused on the growth and success of its artists and their music, their staff and their ventures while keeping family at the forefront.

“Why&How was built to be different,” Kalmick shares. “We challenge the antiquated principles that seem to prevent progress. We have to continue to evolve with the culture, technology, and general spirit of the music business. When we come together as a team and dive deeper into these principles, it’s clear that we are making strides towards exponential growth. Why&How is a family and we will continue to break out and support the industry in new and more culturally sophisticated ways.”

The company is ready to further its mission in 2023, with several artists preparing for upcoming releases. Chase Rice’s album I Hate Cowboys and All Dogs Go to Hell arrives on Feb. 10, Bradbery’s “A Special Place” is impacting country radio Feb. 13, and Tyler Braden’s EP Neon Grave will release on March 3. The Weathered Souls, Seaforth, Halle Kearns, Read Southall Band and Kaleo all have new music coming later this year.
