George Strait Gets Star-Studded Lineup For Last Concert

Reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year George Strait will play his final concert June 7, 2014 at the 100,000-seat capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The show, which is the last date for Quicken Loans Presents George Strait’s The Cowboy Rides Away Tour 2014, will include an all-star lineup of guest artists (performing three songs each) including Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Ronnie Dunn, Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride and Lee Ann Womack.
Fittingly, the opening act for Strait’s final concert will be the “Kings of Texas Swing,” Asleep At The Wheel.
Tickets for the highly-anticipated concert will go on sale to the public Friday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. CST and can be purchased via Strait’s official website.

High Valley Releases Debut EP Today

Rescue_You_Cover3.1Sibling trio High Valley are releasing their debut U.S. EP, Rescue You, today (Nov. 19) on iTunes. The album’s title track is receiving airplay on Sirius/XM’s The Highway as an “On The Horizon” pick, and five of the six tracks on the collection were co-written by lead singer Brad Rempel. The band also includes Bryan Rempel on harmony vocals and bass, and Curtis Rempel on harmony vocals and mandolin.
After 16 years of touring and opening for artists including Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban in their homeland of Canada, the reigning Canadian CMA Awards Interactive Artists of the Year are now making their U.S. debut. The project is being released by Eaglemont Entertainment, and is produced by Phil O’DonnellSeth MosleySean Neff, and Jeremy Spillman.

Underwood To Appear on 'Sound Of Music' Soundtrack

NY03443A companion soundtrack to NBC’s upcoming live broadcast of The Sound Of Music, starring Carrie Underwood as Maria, is set for release by Sony Masterworks on Dec. 3. The Sound of Music – Music From The NBC Television Event will include studio versions of all of the numbers performed by cast members in the show, including the title track, “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” and many more.
Joining Underwood in the cast for the holiday TV event are Audra McDonald, Stephen Moyer, Christian Borle, and Laura Benanti, among others. The three-hour live production will air Dec. 5.
The Sound Of Music originally premiered on Broadway in 1959, where it broke box office records and won the Tony Award for best musical. The 1965 film adaptation starring Julie Andrews also won the Oscar for best picture.

John Rich To Premiere New Talk Show on TV Guide Network

image001John Rich is adding talk show host to his resume’ next week when his new show, Rich At Night, premieres on Nov. 25 on the TV Guide Network (TVGN). Among the special guests lined up to appear on the new show are Wynonna, Kix Brooks, Wayne Brady, John Ratzenberger, and former fellow Muzik Mafia member Gretchen Wilson.
Rich is joined by co-host Aussie actress/singer Sophie Monk on the show, which features Rich’s Nashville home, along with various bars around the city. He’s appearing on Fox & Friends and Today this morning (Nov. 19) to promote the show, and will guest on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon tonight at 12:35 ET.
As one half of the well-known country duo Big & Rich, Rich is no stranger to TV, having spent weeks on the 11th season of the Celebrity Apprentice, where he was named winner of the competition and raised over 1.4 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Nashville reporter Stacy McCloud is set to join Great American Country’s Headline Country as a co-host, reporter and producer. She has been part of Nashville’s Fox 17 news team since 2009 as an entertainment reporter and anchor, and shared the news via a blog on fox17.com.
Prior to joining Fox 17, the Tennessee native worked as an anchor and reporter for WVLT-TV in Knoxville, Tenn. She graduated from East Tennessee State University in 2002.

Nashville music fans who did not obtain a ticket to the upcoming tribute show to the late George Jones still have an option to see the performance. Today (Nov. 18), during the unveiling of the George Jones monument in Nashville, Nancy Jones announced that fans will be able to watch the concert (which will be held Friday, Nov. 22) outside the Bridgestone Arena.
A jumbotron will play the concert live for Nashville fans; the concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. The tribute concert will not be televised.
The family of George Jones has also established a scholarship fund at Middle Tennessee State University. Nancy Jones will make the first donation to the fund, while MTSU Recording Industry Department Chair Beverly Keel will oversee the donation drive for the fund. On Thursday, Nov. 14, Kelly Clarkson helped Musicians On Call (MOC) Nashville raise more than $106,000 by performing to a sold-out crowd at Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Nashville for the MOC Nashville sixth anniversary party presented by Citi.
Clarkson performed fan favorites “Since U Been Gone,” “My Life Would Suck Without You,” and “Stronger” as well as songs from her Christmas project, Wrapped In Red. Clarkson also donated her 2012 American Music Awards performance dress to Hard Rock Cafe for display in its world-famous memorabilia collection in exchange for a $9,000 contribution to MOC Nashville.

After Luke Bryan‘s first show at New York City’s Madison Square Garden sold out in five minutes, the singer-songwriter’s second show has now sold out as well. The second show will be held Sept. 12, 2014. Bryan’s 2014 tour, That’s My Kind of Night Tour, will launch Jan. 16 in Columbus, Ohio and will feature Lee Brice and Cole Swindell on the first leg of the tour.
“I can’t thank my fans enough for being so eager to see us play in New York City,” said Luke. “They have made my first time playing Madison Square Garden a two-time experience. I’m trying to let it all sink in but I cannot wait to get there and share my live show with them!”

Jobe Recording artist Chelsea Bain performed at the final NASCAR race of the 2013 season at the Homestead-Miami Speedway recently, and met with NASCAR Sprint Cup racer Tony Stewart. Bain has headlined the Coca Cola stage at no less than 40 NASCAR Camping World Truck, Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series races across the country since February of this year.
She is currently in the studio with producers Stan Lynch and Billy Chapin, working on a project set to release in early 2014.

Whitney Duncan has signed a publishing deal with Given Music Publishing. Duncan has collaborated with songwriters including Hillary Lindsey, Gordie Sampson, Chris Tompkins, and Kara DioGuardi, and her songs have been recorded by numerous artists including Danielle Bradbery.
“Whitney is a proven and professional writer as well as a ‘Survivor,’ and I very much look forward to working with her,” said Given Music’s VP/GM Mike Sebastian. “She is a talented, gifted writer and a wonderful person, and she brings a lot to the Given Music Publishing team.”
She appeared on season 23 of Survivor: South Pacific  in 2011, where she lasted 28 days in the jungle of Samoa. She recently cut new sides with producers Dave Haywood of Lady Antebellum and Paul Worley, and will be releasing new music in 2014.
