Audiam Expands To Music Services
/by Sarah SkatesAudiam’s proprietary music database technology finds and cross references all necessary music meta-data required by music services to identify and administer all earned and un-allocated royalties regardless of origin, format, or country.
Jeff Price CEO/Founder of Audiam says, “The trick to finding and collecting money in the new digital music industry is matching metadata points, database architecture and copyright law. The existing mess of missing and bad data has misallocated or stopped the payment of hundreds of millions of dollars owed to music publishers and artists. By fixing this problem, we are able to find, unlock and administer huge amounts of money our customers would otherwise not have gotten, all while removing liability for the new music services.”
Audiam was founded and is led by TuneCore founders Price, Peter Wells and former TuneCore CTO David Willen.

Vimeo To Introduce 'Copyright Match' ID System
/by Jessica NicholsonWhen a video is uploaded to Vimeo, Copyright Match “fingerprints” an audio sample to see if it matches certain third-party copyrighted material, including songs, movies and television shows.
If a match is found users have the option to replace the video file, to delete the video, to swap the audio with a track from the Vimeo Music Store, or to appeal the match. Appeals can include notifying Vimeo that the material is being used with permission, that the use is “fair use” or that the system has made a mistake.
Vimeo has partnered with Audible Magic, a provider of content identification services.
According to the company’s official website, they have more than 26 million registered members, with more than 170 million unique visitors each month.
