Delta Rae Plans Nashville Residency
/by Jessica Nicholson“We have always had two sides to our sound,” explained Delta Rae member Brittany Holljes. “Liz sings warm summer love songs and by contrast I give voice to our swampy, mysterious tracks. The core of our inspiration is the power of that contrast. It’s Light and Dark, Good and Evil, Life and Death. This Revival experience will play off those forces in a way to give our audience both butterflies and goosebumps. We promise it will deliver on everything Delta Rae does best. It’s by far the most creative and exciting show we’ve ever crafted.”
Delta Rae is rounded out with Holljes’ brothers Eric (vocals, piano) and Ian (vocals, guitar) as well as Mike McKee (drums) and Grant Emerson (bass). Storytelling and southern magic have always been part of the Holljes siblings’ upbringing. Since signing to The Valory Music Co., Delta Rae has released two EPs – A Long And Happy Life, and The Blackbird Sessions, which produced the single “No Peace in Quiet.”
The Basement is located at 1604 8th Ave. S. in Nashville.

Granger Smith’s Alter-Ego To Release Book
Country music chart-topper Granger Smith’s country boy alter-ego Earl Dibbles Jr. is conquering new territory as he announced details for his first-ever book, If You’re City, If You’re Country. The book will be released on Aug. 21. The illustrated paper-back is a collection of comedic anecdotes comparing and contrasting city life and country life as narrated through a cartoon Earl Dibbles Jr. Included with the book is a 5-song EP of fan-favorite Earl Dibbles Jr. tracks.
Beginning now, fans can pre-order If You’re City, If You’re Country on Amazon.
Granger explained of the process, “This book has been several years in the making and I couldn’t be more excited to finally put the idea into fruition. Writing these jokes as a creative outlet has been the product of so many late night, after show laughs with the band. Earl in his entire existence has been a walking caricature and finally seeing him in all his glory come to life in illustrations seems so natural. Ultimately, I hope it makes people smile and the thought of that makes me happy.”
