I’m humbled and grateful for the countless opportunities I’ve been given and I’m overwhelmed by the impact our music has had in the lives of consumers around the world. I’d like to thank Steve Barnett for all of his support over these past seven years and for his confidence in our succession plan and the next generation of leadership for CCMG.”

Daywind Records Adds Two To Executive Team
/by Lorie HollabaughDusty Wells, Kyle Johnson
Daywind Records has added two new staffers, Dusty Wells as Director of Artist and Label Relations, and Kyle Johnson as Director of Marketing.
“I could not be more excited to have these two consummate professionals and committed Christians join the Daywind team,” said Ed Leonard, president of Daywind Music Group. “We are committed to nurturing and assisting our artists in every facet of their career, providing them with the resources they need to fulfill the Great Commission. I am honored to work with a fantastic team and am looking forward to seeing where God takes us.”
Wells will lead a newly-formed artist and label relations team focused on serving the specific needs of creators and helping them grow their ministries. Wells began his career working at Christian retail as the music buyer for a chain of stores in the Northwest, and later becoming the sales and marketing rep for Sparrow Records while working with the Rambos to develop their publishing, label and ministry operations. Wells spent 22 years at Word Distribution where he was involved in many aspects of sales, marketing, and promotions. In the last three years, Dusty worked with Word-Curb, Daywind, Gotee, Reach, Tooth & Nail, Fuel and others as part of the New Day Christian Distributors sales team, handling all national accounts. He will continue to handle national accounts along with his new responsibilities.
“I am absolutely thrilled and excited to come alongside our Daywind and New Day artists and labels to help nurture and advance their music, ministries, and lives,” said Wells. “Music daily touches my own life and has truly been a healing force in my journey from the time I first heard the message of hope and Jesus in a song. I cannot wait to see what God is getting ready to do through me with this opportunity.”
Johnson will head up the Daywind and New Day marketing team. Johnson began his career as a music buyer at his family-owned bookstore. He moved to Nashville in 1998 to become a drummer, and then began working at Word Entertainment. After a decade, Johnson joined Michael Smith and Associates as an artist manager, helping guide the careers of Salvador, Jaci Velasquez, Go Fish, and more. Johnson also led the marketing efforts for two MSA labels. He then started his own social media consulting company and later joined ClearView Baptist Church as Communications Director working with all ministry areas of the church. In 2017, Johnson joined New Day Christian Distributors as head of manufacturing and marketing.
“Looking back on my journey, I can only thank God for the many opportunities He has given me in music,” said Johnson. “I am thrilled to be working more closely with our Daywind artists to help get the message of the Gospel out to those in need.”
Kenny Chesney Taps Into Power Of “Here And Now” On New Single
/by Lorie Hollabaugh“This song kind of blew my mind,” said Chesney. “The chorus is everything I feel about my time on stage with No Shoes Nation…the rush of it absolutely being the best place, best moment in the entire world. There’s no rush like it. But what really got me was the way the song puts everybody on notice. It says everything about how we all put off living our lives because there’s so much other stuff to do. Only thing is, that’s exactly how you miss everything that matters! It’s not the big stuff that gets you laughing or breaks the bad momentum, it’s what’s right here if you’ll bother to dial in and really feel it.”
The song will no doubt be in the lineup on Chesney’s upcoming Chillaxification Tour, which kicks off April 18 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and runs through the Summer.

Gotee Records has signed Brandon Richardson, who goes professionally by the name Richlin, to its roster. I want to create something that is synergistic with reaching people in their 20s and people in their 50s. I don’t even know if it’s possible, but I want to go after it and it’s in my heart.”
Richlin grew up in small town Paisley, Oklahoma. Growing up the son of a rancher, Richlin openly listened to both country music and Contemporary Christian tunes, but also soaked up ’90s-era hip-hop culture, all of which are evident in his music.
Gotee Records was formed in 1994 by producers Joey Elwood and Todd Collins, alongside Grammy winner TobyMac. Over the past two decades, the label has helped launch the careers of artists including Relient K, Aaron Cole, Capital Kings, Family Force 5, Jamie Grace and more.
