SESAC kicked off 2025 CMA Awards week in Nashville last night (Nov. 16) with its annual SESAC Nashville Awards. Held at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, the star-studded event honored the songwriters and publishers behind this year’s most-performed country and Americana songs. More than 500 songwriters, publishers and industry professionals attended the celebration, which was sponsored in part by Hatef Aesthetics.
Guests enjoyed charcuterie snacks, sliders, a salad station, the yearly favorite mac & cheese bar, and passed appetizers while socializing during cocktail hour. When the program began, SESAC’s Scott Jungmichel and Sam Kling welcomed attendees before introducing affiliate Stephen Wilson Jr. to open the evening’s performances.

Wilson Jr. captivated the room with a performance of his brand-new single, “Gary,” quickly drawing focus from the socializing crowd with his grunge-country stylings.
SVP, Head of Nashville Creative, Shannan Hatch then took the stage to host the evening alongside Senior Directors of Creative Services, ET Brown and Lydia Cahill. They first recognized Americana stalwarts Mumford & Sons, Hayes Carll, Rachael Price (Lake Street Dive), Margo Price and Jeremy Ivey, followed by affiliates Steve Bogard and Jim Lauderdale, who were inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame earlier this fall. Singer-songwriter Emily Ann Roberts paid tribute with performances of Bogard’s “Carried Away” and Lauderdale’s “Hole in My Head.”
Then came the country awards. Among the many SESAC songwriters behind this year’s top-performed country hits, several received special presentations.
Kelsea Ballerini was on hand to present her longtime collaborator Alysa Vanderheym with her award for “Baggage.” Megan Moroney took the stage next to perform her latest release, “Beautiful Things,” building excitement for her upcoming third studio album, Cloud 9, due in February.

Frequent co-writer Jessie Jo Dillon surprised Moroney by presenting her with SESAC’s Song of the Year award for her No. 1 hit “Am I Okay?” An emotional Moroney accepted the honor, sharing, “Songwriting is so therapeutic. I wouldn’t get through life and situations without it… thank you SESAC, my amazing team and country music.”
Warner Chappell Music earned the title of Publisher of the Year after taking home multiple awards throughout the night. The team joined SESAC executives onstage for a celebratory photo.
Michael Tyler was named SESAC’s Songwriter of the Year on the strength of hits including “Cowboy Songs” (recorded by George Birge), “Holy Smokes” (recorded by Bailey Zimmerman) and “This Heart” (recorded by Corey Kent). To mark the achievement, Gibson created a custom guitar and Jostens provided a one-of-a-kind ring.
Tyler was surprised with a video montage featuring his family as well as congratulatory messages from Birge and Kent. When he took the stage, he was stunned again to see his family in the audience—a surprise coordinated by SESAC. He grew emotional as he thanked Jesus, his family, and his team for their support.

Red Bull Jukebox returned to Nashville on Saturday night (Nov. 15) at The Pinnacle for its second annual event. Ward Guenther of Whiskey Jam and Morgan Huelsman of iHeartRadio served as the evening’s hosts, and Miles McPherson and the Red Bull Jukebox House Band backed each performer.
Carter Faith kicked off the evening with recently released “Bar Star,” before “Crying Over U,” featuring a surprise appearance from Medium Build. Faith then closed out her set with “Grudge” and “Sex, Drugs, & Country Music.” Kashus Culpepper then graced the stage with “Pour Me Out” and “Man Of His Word,” before a cover of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” with special guest Maggie Rose. He closed out his set with “Out of My Mind” performed with a drumline representing Alabama HBCU Talladega College.

Dolly Parton Teams With Tennessean Travel Stop To Re-Brand Locations
/by Lorie HollabaughGregory H. Sachs, Chairman/CEO Sachs Capital Group & Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stops; Dolly Parton; and Danny Nozell, Founder/CEO CTK Enterprises & Parton’s Manager
Dolly Parton has partnered with the Tennessean Travel Stop team to rebrand and revitalize its flagship Cornersville, Tennessee location by early Summer 2026 as Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop.
The first rebranded location will serve as the flagship for future sites planned under the Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stops banner, with additional locations across Tennessee and beyond to be announced in 2026.
“I have spent the bulk of my life on the road, and more specifically on a bus,” states Parton. “All the years spent visiting greasy spoon cafes, truck stops, and roadside pit stops have given me an understanding of what traveler’s desire on the road. Whether you are driving a truck, a bus, or a car, you want a place that feels like home and recharges you for the rest of your journey. I believe we will fill a void out there on the highways, all while bringing the heart and soul of Tennessee.”
“The Tennessean has long been a ‘home away from home’ for truck drivers, travelers, and locals alike. Our roots in this community run deep—we’ve created jobs, built connection, and welcomed generations of people through our doors,” says Gregory H. Sachs, Chairman/CEO of the Tennessean Travel Stop and Sachs Capital Group. “This new partnership allows us to carry that legacy forward in a way that celebrates everything special about Tennessee. Together with Dolly and her team, we’re reimagining what a travel stop can be—transforming it into a warm, inviting destination where everyone feels welcome to slow down, kick up their feet, and stay awhile.”
The flagship location, which will remain open under renovation, will introduce an evolved travel experience that integrates modern amenities, curated dining and regional retail with the approachable comfort travelers expect from both brands. Further announcements regarding opening timelines, design partners and expansion markets are expected in the coming months.

Muscadine Bloodline Relive Some Mississippi Memories On New Album ‘Longleaf Lo-fi’
/by Lorie HollabaughMuscadine Bloodline
Muscadine Bloodline has released a new album Longleaf Lo-fi, via Stancaster Music/Thirty Tigers.
Members Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton surprise-announced the album earlier this month without any details, giving fans the option to purchase a limited-edition vinyl of the new album before it hit streaming. Within 24 hours, all 3,000 copies were completely sold out.
“Longleaf Lo-fi is the most laid-back and real record we’ve ever made. It feels like sitting by a fire on a cool Mississippi night,” explains Muscadine Bloodline. “Every song comes from somewhere on Highway 59 between Meridian and Poplarville, shaped by the towns, the memories, and people along the way. We’re from Alabama, but we spent a lot of our adult years and made some of our best memories in Mississippi, and both of our wives are from there too. So these songs didn’t feel like stories we made up. They felt like memories we already had.
“We left town for a while and recorded the whole album in a cabin on a quail farm in Poplarville. No rush, no fancy studio. Just us, some guitars and time to let the music happen. It’s simple, acoustic led, and we kept it that way on purpose. Longleaf Lo-fi isn’t about being polished. It’s about being present.”
In honor of Veterans Day last week, they released a video for “Peter From Picayune,” a heartfelt portrait of bravery and sacrifice. “Peter From Picayune” follows the release of “My Meridian” which was released last month and also appears on the new album.
Longleaf Lo-fi Track List:
1) “Goose Chase”
2) “Silence”
3) “My Meridian”
4) “Maybe I’ll Say It” (feat. Tenille Townes)
5) “Arsonist”
6) “Right Place, Right Time”
7) “Grace”
8) “Peter From Picayune”
9) “Clairvoyant”
10) “59”
11) “You Will Be Loved”
