Garth Brooks Announces Multi-Year Stadium Tour, Notre Dame Television Special

Garth Brooks will hit the road again in 2019. The superstar announced plans for a multi-year stadium tour this morning (Oct. 17) during a press conference at the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The tour will visit 10-12 cities each year for the next three years, with most of those stops being at college stadiums. The tour’s initial two cities will be St. Louis, Missouri, and Glendale, Arizona. No official dates for either tour stop were announced, though Brooks said he will announce the first five stops on the stadium tour before Christmas.

“I wanted to call it the ‘big ass stadium tour,’ but they voted me down on that one,” Brooks said during the press conference. “This is the most time I’ve ever put into anything … All the logistics of it is a step up for me.”

Brooks is slated to play Notre Dame Stadium on Oct. 20, making Brooks the first artist to perform at the venue. Earlier today, it was announced that the show will be captured as part of a primetime television special, Garth: Live At Notre Dame!, set to air Sunday, Dec. 2 on the CBS Television Network.

He says the Notre Dame show inspired the upcoming tour.

“This was not a planned thing,” Brooks said. “We were supposed to take a whole year off [but] we saw it as a blueprint of what could be.”

Brooks’ previous multi-year tour, which ran from 2014-2017, ended in December 2017 with shows in Nashville. Brooks will release the next installment of his anthology, titled Anthology Part III Live, on Nov. 20.

Former BLA Leaders Mike Meade, Amy Aylward Form Acceleration Music Group

Mike Meade, Amy Aylward

Former Buddy Lee Attractions leaders Mike Meade and Amy Aylward have partnered to form Acceleration Music Group. Meade was previously Vice President at BLA, while Aylward was an agent.

Acceleration Music Group’s flagship artists include Suzanne Alexander, Bone Feather, Ty Herndon, Brody Ray, Darryl Worley and Michelle Wright.

“I’ve been working as an agent in this industry for more than two decades and I’ve maneuvered through some vast changes in the entertainment arena during that time,” recalls Meade. “Two things have always remained constant: a great booking agency can truly accelerate an artist to the next level working in tandem with the artist’s team and a hard-working agency that moves forward as a unit to pursue both our clients’ and our staff’s goals will succeed. I’m excited for the opportunities that can be achieved with this new company and I’m proud to partner with Amy for AMG.”

“Acceleration Music Group is all about moving careers forward,” says Aylward. “Working with established artists as well as new comers gives us the perfect opportunity to expand fan bases and bookings worldwide. In addition, the Pre-Jam Party is slated to feature hip-hop artist Ty Brasel; rockers Manic Drive; singer/songwriter Dan Bremnes; and special guest former Stellar Kart and Audio Adrenaline frontman Adam Agee. This setup will offer better views, more seating and surround sound. More than anything, I’m just ready to see how God is going to use all the artists, songs and speakers to draw people to Himself. He’s the reason we do this every year!”

“With Peter and Phil back onstage with us, we can’t wait to bring the Newsboys United show to Winter Jam next year,” says Newsboys’ Michael Tait. “It’s a blast to join forces with such an incredible lineup of artists, and the ministry at the heart of Winter Jam is always evident.”

Earlier this year Winter Jam was crowned the top first quarter music tour in the world. Landing at No. 2 on Pollstar’s “2018 1Q YTD Worldwide Ticket Sales Top 100 Tours” chart, the Winter Jam 2018 Tour Spectacular took the top spot of all music tours, following No. 1 outing “Disney On Ice.” In 2018 Winter Jam hit a total of 46 cities across the country from January through March, boasting 17 sold-out shows.
