Today, Cooper releases the new song, “South of the Angels,” penned by Cooper alongside Billy McClaren. He is set to release a new studio album, Chasing Old Highs, on Feb. 26, 2021.

Cooper released his debut project, Give It Time, in 2014, and followed with 2018’s I Rode Wild Horses. The upcoming album was produced by Oscar Charles and features musicians including Rob McNelley (Bob Seger) and Jeremy Fetzer (Duane Eddy, Steelism).

When that is lost, the world becomes a poorer place. The question of when—and how—live music will return is agonizing the entire entertainment business as well as wider society. At IEBA’s 2020 virtual conference, we provide answers to those when and how questions.”

IEBA’s virtual conference included sessions with talent buyers, promoters, and venue operators from Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Pacific, and across the United States. In two days, nearly 3,000 online attendees have viewed the 2020 conference programming.

IEBA’s 51st annual conference is scheduled for October 3-5, 2021 at the Omni Nashville.

Jeffrey Hasson Joins UTA’s Nashville Office

Jeffrey Hasson

UTA has announced that music agent Jeffrey Hasson has joined the leadership team in its Nashville office, while Matt Meyer has joined UTA’s Los Angeles office.

Hasson comes to UTA from Paradigm and got his start in the music industry at Monterey Peninsula Artists in 2005. He has worked with artists spanning a wide range of genres including Young The Giant, Tori Kelly, Surfaces, Jamey Johnson, Dashboard Confessional, Dayglow, Blues Traveler, Coin, and Ruston Kelly, among others.

“I’m so excited to join the UTA team, and a music department with such great momentum. The company’s perseverance and navigation through these trying times has been very admirable,” said Hasson. “I can’t wait to share all of UTA’s incredible cross-department resources with my clients to help elevate their business.”

Meyer has worked with an extensive roster of superstars and rising talent, including Halsey, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Dicky, Don Toliver, Tinashe, Yungblud, Cash Cash, Eden, and The Knocks, among others. He is credited with fostering Halsey’s development from an opening act to a festival and arena headliner. He also comes to UTA from Paradigm. He got his start in the industry as an agent at electronic dance music agency AM Only, which was later acquired by Paradigm.

“I am grateful to be joining the team at UTA during a time when they have showcased real innovation and done amazing work on behalf of their clients,” said Meyer. “Everyone has been extremely supportive of this next chapter in my career and I am looking forward to collaborating with my new colleagues to both expand my clients’ passions outside of music and creating a great touring business.”

“Jeffrey and Matt have impeccable track records of identifying and developing emerging artists and creating unique opportunities for their clients,” said David Zedeck, Co-Head of UTA’s Music department. “Jeffrey is well-respected within the Nashville music community, and Matt has his finger firmly on the pulse for the next generation of hitmakers. We are thrilled to welcome both of them to our team.”

In September 2019, UTA signed a lease to relocate the Nashville headquarters to a historic, three-story building at 225 Polk Avenue. UTA’s Nashville team represents a roster of established headliners including Toby Keith, Clint Black, Trace Adkins, Craig Morgan, and Clay Walker, and has furthered the careers of upcoming stars such as Blanco Brown, High Valley, Jimmie Allen, Matt Stell, JoJo Mason, and Logan Mize. In August 2020, they signed country music singer-songwriter Easton Corbin, who has won three ACM Awards and has released seven Billboard top 10 singles, including the No. 1 hits “A Little More Country Than That” and “Roll With It,” over the course of his career.

Easton Corbin has signed with UTA for exclusive booking representation in all areas.
“2020 has brought a lot of changes for everyone but it’s also brought a lot of opportunities. I’ve taken time to work on my team and I’m really excited to be working with UTA,” Corbin said. “Their eagerness and expertise impressed me from the beginning and I’m looking forward to working together which is essential to getting back on the road.”

Corbin released his previous single “Turn Up” earlier this summer, and his second collaboration with EDM star Lost Frequencies, “One More Night,” has already earned over 3 million Spotify streams. He recently performed the song “Didn’t Miss A Beat” during an appearance on NBC’s TODAY Show on Sept. 3. Corbin co-wrote the song alongside Brad Clawson, Shane Minor and Wade Kirby, who also produced the track.

NIVA, YouTube Announce Initiative To Help Preserve Independent Music Venues

The National Independent Venue Association and YouTube have joined forces to help preserve independent live music venues across the United States through the Save Our Stages initiative.

NIVA’s mission is to preserve and nurture the ecosystem of independent live music venues and promoters throughout the U.S., and together, YouTube and NIVA will work on unique programming that will help bring live performances back into music venues safely. In addition, YouTube will help raise awareness and funding for the NIVA Emergency Relief Fund.

The Emergency Relief Fund was created to support America’s most vulnerable venues and is intended to provide short-term relief for independent venue owners and promoters on the verge of eviction or permanently shutting down due to COVID-19. The fund is intended to work hand-in-hand with federal and local programs, assisting with the most immediate needs facing the country’s independent venues and promoters and making it more likely that they will be able to reopen, fully, when it’s safe.

“YouTube is a place where artists and fans around the world come to connect and build community,” said Robert Kyncl, YouTube Chief Business Officer. “With traditional concerts on hold, never has there been a more important time to support the live music industry through our partnership with NIVA. We’re committed to doing our part in saving independent venues and continuing to bring artists and fans together through music.”

“With the entire independent venue and promoter industry on the verge of massive collapse, we’ve been fighting urgently for the Save Our Stages Act which will provide meaningful relief to our members and the independent music community,” said Stephen Sternshein, co-founder/treasurer of NIVA, and managing partner of Heard Presents in Austin. “YouTube’s direct involvement helps us generate awareness for the plight of independent live music and raise funds for NIVA’s Emergency Relief efforts. This could literally be the difference between some venues going under or holding on until Congress comes back from recess to pass much-needed federal relief. The independent concert industry will be reeling for years to come from the devastating revenue loss related to COVID-19, so we’re excited about what YouTube and NIVA can do together to bring the live experience back.”
