Vince Gill Celebrates 35th Opry Anniversary
Vince Gill celebrated his 35th anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday night (Oct. 17).
Gill made his Opry debut on June 29, 1989, and was inducted as an official member on August 10, 1991. Ricky Skaggs, Patty Loveless, Amy Grant, Jenny Gill Van Valkenburg, Charlie Worsham and Keb’ Mo’ also performed during the Saturday night shows.
Gill recently wrapped his “50 Years From Home Tour,” celebrating five decades since leaving his Oklahoma home to pursue a life in music. The 27-city tour, launched in June, included a sold-out six-night residency at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium. His most recent 50 Years From Home EP was released on Friday. He will continue performing with the Eagles during their upcoming dates at Sphere in Las Vegas and will return to the Ryman Auditorium in December for the annual Christmas at the Ryman residency with Grant.
