Weekly Register: Kenny Rogers Reclaims Country Albums Chart Pinnacle
Following his death on March 20, 2020 at age 81, Kenny Rogers‘ music has returned to No. 1 on the country albums chart for the first time since 1986.
The Best of Kenny Rogers: Through The Years, which released back in 2018, tops this week’s country albums chart, according to Nielsen Soundscan, with 32K in total consumption. Rogers’ previous No. 1 album came on Dec. 28, 1985, when The Heart of the Matter began the first of a six-week reign atop the country albums chart, running from Dec. 28, 1985-Feb. 1, 1986.
Kelsea Ballerini‘s third studio album Kelsea debuts at No. 2, with 28K in total consumption, bolstered by the singles “Homecoming Queen?” and “The Other Girl” (ft. Halsey).
