Jennifer Johnson has launched a new publishing company, Riser House Publishing, which will be located at 1010 17th Ave. S.

Riser House Publishing’s first signing is songwriter Michael Whitworth from Roswell, Georgia.

Jason VanAuken has signed on as the company’s General Manager, with Kristen Ashley taking on the Sr. VP/Creative Director and Paige Pugh as Creative Manager.

Johnson continues to simultaneously run Song Factory, which recently celebrated a No. 1 hit with Jon Pardi.

“Michael is a brilliant songwriter and we are honored to have him on the Riser House team! He can write in any genre and format, that is a special gift and we are thrilled to be his publishing partner.” Johnson said.

“I knew from my first meeting with Jennifer and Kristen that Riser House was going to be the place for me,” Whitworth said. “It just immediately felt like home. There is nothing more important than that to me. I’m truly grateful, and I can’t wait to see what this amazing company does in Nashville.”

“I can’t thank Andy Albert enough for introducing me to Michael. After listening to three of Michael’s songs I knew that I had to have him as a writer. I don’t think he even realizes how talented he is. He is Michael ‘Hitworth,’ and I can’t wait for everyone on Music Row to see that,” Ashley said.
