Luke Bryan Concert Rescheduled After Partial Stage Collapse

Luke Bryan‘s concert tonight (Jan. 17) at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky. has been rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 21, due to damage sustained to a portion of the stage during production load out after last night’s show in Columbus, Ohio.
According to news site nbc4i.com, officers were dispatched to Columbus, Ohio’s Schottenstein Center at about 12:04 a.m. Friday on a report of a stage collapse. According to the Ohio State University Police Division, four received minor injuries during the collapse. Kyle Davis, 47, of Columbus; Leonard Devrijer, 49, of Columbus; Andrew Gammon, 26, of Nashville; and Steven Meyers, 41, of Bremen were transported to an area hospital and treated for minor injuries.
No serious injuries have been reported.
According to Bryan’s publicist, the damage occurred after the show ended, and no fans were in the building. Necessary repairs to the production element will be made so the tour can continue.

Evans Reveals ‘Slow Me Down' Album Cover And Track Listing

image004Sara Evans has revealed the album cover and track listing for her seventh studio album, Slow Me Down, slated for release on March 11, 2014. The album will feature collaborations with Vince Gill, Gavin DeGraw and The Fray’s Isaac Slade.
Evans has also released a behind the scenes video of the making of Slow Me Down, which features the singer’s collaborations with Slade and DeGraw. Fans can watch the video here.
The project’s title track is currently No. 14 on MusicRow’s chart.

The winning artist or band will receive five days of studio recording time with a professional engineer and five days of mixing and mastering to create a complete six-song EP. The winner will be announced on April 1.

SESAC-LOGO1SESAC and Leadership Music, in cooperation with Metro Nashville Public Schools, have organized a “Songwriting Day” on Jan. 21 at SESAC for approximately 18-20 students from Pearl-Cohn High School and Nashville School of the Arts. Students will learn the “Business of Songwriting” from songwriter Brian White. White earned SESAC’s Country Song of the Year for penning Rodney Atkins‘ “Watching You.” He has more than 300 cuts to his credit, including writing for Trace Adkins, Gary Allan, Terri Clark, Point of Grace, Mandisa, Selah, Avalon and more.
The sessions will include information on copyrights, licensing, royalties, and writer-publisher relations. SESAC president Pat Collins will be on hand to welcome the group.

Blake Shelton will head out on the 20+ date Ten Times Crazier Tour 2014 with sponsors including Pepsi. The tour kicks off in June and will visit cities including Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York City. Joining Shelton will be The Band Perry, Neal McCoy and Dan + Shay.
The first opportunity for fans to buy tickets to the Ten Times Crazier Tour 2014, will be through Live Nation’s Country Megaticket 2014 sales campaign, where fans can purchase multi-show Country music packages at Megaticket.com, beginning next week.

Alabama, Eli Young Band, J.T. Hodges Slated for New Cincinnati Festival

Buckle-UpCincinnati’s new three-day Buckle Up Music Festival has announced an initial lineup of what they expect will include 80 performers, now including Alabama, Eli Young Band, J.T. Hodges, and The Lone Bellow.
The event will take place in downtown Cincinnati at Sawyer Point and Yeatman’s Cove from July 18-20. Performances will span six stages.
“Cincinnati has quickly proven itself as a perfect market for an outdoor summer music festival,” said Bill Donabedian, the festival’s founder. “As with Bunbury Music Festival (the three-day alternative rock festival), the goal with Buckle Up is to feature an eclectic mix of music combined with an unforgettable experience.”
The new music festival expects to highlight a large array of American music including country, folk, bluegrass, Americana, roots rock genres.

Tracy Lawrence’s 28-city North American Headlights, Taillights and Radios Tour 2014 is set to begin Jan. 16 in Detroit Lakes, Minn.
“Performing live is a part of who I am,” Lawrence said. “Last year was an incredible feeling for me to release the new album Headlights, Taillights and Radios which had such great response. I am very excited to share this new music with the fans in concert.”

Facebook Launches Trending Topics Feature

Facebook’s new Trending section brings popular news directly to Facebook users.


Users of Facebook may notice their homepages have a new feature. The social media giant has revealed Trending, a new product designed to reveal relevant and popular conversations in order to help users discover content. The product launched yesterday (Jan. 16). On the right side of a user’s news feed, users will see a list of topics that are currently popular in Facebook conversations.  The Trending section is currently being rolled out in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, India and Australia.
The personalized list includes the most mentioned words, news and phrases of the moment, along with brief explanations of why each is spiking in popularity. A click-through leads to a page of mentions by friends, Pages and public posts.
According to Facebook’s news blog, “Topics are personalized based on things you’re interested in and what is trending across Facebook overall.”

Rdio Follows Spotify In Dropping Caps On Free Ad-Supported Listening

rdio logo111Music listeners and Rdio fans can now listen to 20 million songs plus numerous albums, playlists and stations for free. Rdio has dropped its time limits on free streaming of music online. Rdio will support its free listening options with a mix of new feature announcements, messages from partner brands, notifications on exclusive content and more.
An ad-free option, Rdio Unlimited, is still available for $9.99 per month for mobile and web access. For current Rdio Unlimited subscribers’ listening experiences will remain the same.
This move comes one day after Spotify dropped all limits on streaming ad-supported music on the web. Previously, Spotify limited users to a certain number of hours a month, after a six-month trial period.

Ratings Report: 'Nashville' and 'Idol' In A Slump

Nashville notched a series-low rating last night (Jan. 15), nailing down a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating. About 5.05 million viewers tuned in. This is the first new episode of the ABC series in several weeks. Nashville’s ratings are expected to improve after DVR numbers are factored in.
American Idol was also in a slump last night. The season premiere was one of the lowest rated in its 13 seasons, earning a 4.7 adults 18-49, and attracting 15 million viewers overall. The premiere was up 31 percent from last season’s finale, which earned a 3.6.
The premiere of A&E’s Crazy Hearts: Nashville secured almost 2 million viewers and a .8 rating.
