Lifenotes: Mark Russo
Longtime tour production manager Mark Russo has died at age 55. The Albuquerque, NM native passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011.
Russo spent several years with the Tim McGraw tour, and later worked at Production Impact. His career also included time as a lighting director, and entrepreneur. Loved ones describe him as a father, artist, friend and mentor.
In the summer of 2000, Russo even got tossed in jail with McGraw and Kenny Chesney during a beef with the Erie County, New York sheriff’s officers which started when Chesney rode one of their horses.
Russo is survived by son Aaron, and daughter Kristin. A memorial will take place Sun., March 27 in Albuquerque. Details are yet to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for contributions to the “Mark Russo Burial Account” at Bank of America, account # 439004431288. For questions please contact Marco Nunez at thearkiteks@aol.com.

Being the Line Producer on this film unfortunately for me isn’t always sunshine and roses. There are those moments when I when I don’t like this job very much and although those moments are very few and far between this just happens to be one of those moments. I have the sad task of informing all of those concerned with the film about the sudden and most untimely passing of Mark Russo on Sunday in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mark not only was a true friend of the film but a dear friend to Randy for years! Mark was Randy’s (The Wumblies) drum tech back in the day. Later on in Mark’s career he was not only a drum technician but he also became a lighting director, sound engineer, and road/tour manager. Mark worked with some of the most well known names in the music industry names like; The Wumblies, Lita Ford, Cheap Trick, Tim McGraw, The Judds and so many more. Mark was well known, and very respected. Mark’s latest project was promotion for The Arkiteks Music Group and specifically the band The James Douglas Show for whom our friend Marco Nunez plays drums. Mark had many special qualities, he told some truly remarkable stories, and gave each of us the gift of knowing him, and he left each of us with memories that will be cherished forever. On behalf of Eighteen Lights Pictures I would like to extend our deepest heartfelt condolences to Mark’s family and many friends. Mark will be truly missed by all who knew him, and like Randy we will not be able to fill the void that his death has left us. Goodbye my friend till we meet again!

WHY IS CRYSTAL MENTIONED AS HIS DAUGHTER? HE HAD A SON AARON RUSSO/AND A DAUGHTER ”KRISTEN STEWART”….CRYSTAL IS AARON RUSSO’S WIFE! WHERE EXACTLY IS THIS MONEY GOING THAT IS SET UP AT THE ”BANK OF AMERICA” HOPEFULLY NOT INTO AARON AND CRYSTALS HANDS!!!!! R.I.P. MARK…HOPE YOU FINALLY AT PEACE MAN.
I MIXED UP KRISTEN AND CRYSTALS NAME. AND IT WAS MORE MONEY TO CHANGE IT WHEN I REALIZED THE MISTAKE. MY APOLOGIES TO KRISTIN (WHO I HAVENT HEARD FROM YET). AND THE MONEY (WHICH THERE ISNT MUCH YET) IS GOING DIRECTLY TO “DIRECT SERVICES” THE FUNERAL HOME HOLDING MARKS ASHES UNTILL I CAN PAY FOR THEM. THE ONLY MONEY THAT WOULD EVEN EFFECT AARON WOULD BE IF I RAISED ENOUGH SO HE COULD FLY TO ALBUQUERQUE TO ATTEND THE MEMORIAL. IF YOU TRULY WISH MARK PEACE, START HELPING ME RAISE THE MONEY TO PAY FOR HIS SERVICES AND GIVE HIM A PROPER MEMORIAL. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS REGARDING ANYTHING THAT IS GOING ON PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME AT: thearkiteks@aol.com or 505.280.8394 thank you.
Marco
Marco. I just hope that if there are any extra monies donated that both his children get a ticket to attend the memorial. KIRSTIN & AARON. They both deserve to be there. Thanks
Of course! I would love to be able to have them both here for the memorial. It doesnt look promising at the moment, however there are still a few days left. Maybe you could fly Kirsten in and I can fly Aaron in and then they will both be here. Contact me lets work it out!
As much as I would love to do that Marco…I would be lucky enough to even get myself there! Why not ask his cousin Rena to pitch in?..I know they are close, and would do anything for Aaron. Ask Aaron for her info. Thanks Man
Thanks mike rembrant for acknowledging my existence. I didn’t know much of my dad other than I look exactly like him, and I’m a leader, like he was. He may not have been in my life, but I trust he had his reasons. I wish I could be at his services, I feel like it’s my last chance to ever know him., and everything he’s achieved. Love you dad!!! Rest in peace. Have fun with the empty canvas in the sky.
Mark will be missed, i remember when i met him, he introduced me to Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks
Thanks Mark!
No problem Kirstin. I know Mark thought a lot about Aaron and you. He loved you both, even though he may have never shown it/he always talked about how beautiful you were/and are. If there is enough money donated to Marks memorial I would hope that ”BOTH” his kids(You & Aaron) get a ticket out here to attend.I’m sure he would have really liked that.
First off this donation thing has been set up due to the fact that my dad chose to pick a time in my life that I have no money to take care of these expences, Marco ( his Best Friend) has been amazing in handling these affairs due to the fact that I am stuck in Connecticut . it baffles me that out of all the people my dad knew and helped through out his life, these people can express their condolences but cant pop a $10 donation. I don’t want any money from this, All I want is my dad back but that wont happen. I would proudly pay every dime of donations back to each one of you that could spare even $10 dollars to get my dads ashes off a shelf of a funeral home and home with me and My sister. So if My dad touched your life in a positive way remember Karma is a bitch, and I think we all could spare one day of their Starbucks coffee to help out a former friend.
