Dynamic duo, LoCash Cowboys have signed a production deal with Nashville songwriter, performer and producer Jeffrey Steele. LoCash has also signed a publishing deal with Sony Tree Publishing. The guys have been writing and plan on going into the studio during October to begin recording.

Big Machine/No Strings Attached/Midas Records artist Adam Gregory played to an enthusiastic audience at the Grand Ole Opry's famed Studio A on Oct. 6. Industry execs, dedicated fans, radio personnel and contest winners made up the majority of the crowd. George Jones, Tracy Lawrence, Darryl Worley, Lorrie Morgan and John Anderson are among the artists who will have celebrity themed venues at Country Crossings, an entertainment resort to be built in Dothan, AL. Ronnie Gilley Properties, in affiliation with Resorts Development Group II, purchased nearly 400 acres which is to become the home of the resort/entertainment facility featuring a hotel, amphitheater, family entertainment center, festival grounds, RV Park and bingo pavilion. More country acts and celebrity-endorsed venues will be added to the tourist destination, scheduled to open in Fall 2009. The involved artists are expected at the official groundbreaking ceremony on Mon., Oct. 27.

Kenny Chesney showed his college football prowess when he joined the set of ESPN’s College GameDay on Saturday when the show made it’s first ever trip to Nashville for the Vanderbilt/Auburn game. On camera, Chesney made his football predictions for the day including picking the Commodores to beat Auburn, which they did.

Dierks Bentley’s third annual “Miles & Music For Kids” set record numbers Sunday (10/5) with approximately 1,200 bikers and 5,500 concert attendees, raising over $275,000 for Monroe Carroll Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. The Celebrity Motorcycle Ride & Jam Session started at the Harley-Davidson of Cool Springs, and ended with a concert at Riverfront Park featuring Bentley and friends Tim McGraw, John Rich, members of Lady Antebellum, Jamey Johnson, Halfway to Hazard, the Warren Brothers and racer Kyle Petty.
Bentley also set a record for most sleepless hours thanks to the birth of his first daughter Evalyn Day Bentley the previous night. Bentley and wife Cassidy welcomed Evie into the world late Saturday night, Oct. 4, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Evie weighed 7 lbs. 10oz.

Brad Mates, frontman of The Valory Music Co./Midas Records’ Emerson Drive, participated in the YMCA of Middle Tennessee’s Legacy Invitational Golf Tournament on Sept. 29 at the Governor’s Club. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit YMCA of Middle Tennessee’s “We Build People” annual giving campaign, which raises over $5 million each year to help keep Y programs and services available to everyone.

During a special Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Auditorium last night (10/5), Belmont University alumni Brad Paisley, Trisha Yearwood, Josh Turner and Julie Roberts along with special guests Darius Rucker and Bob Schieffer & Honky Tonk Confidential entertained the invitation-only crowd that included national media in Nashville for the presidential debate.
CBS News chief Washington correspondent and moderator of Face The Nation Schieffer, a country music fan who has long enjoyed singing and writing country songs, performed two songs then returned to the stage with Paisley to close the show.
